  1. It isn't discussing, that's what we tell ourselves to justify it. It's ego feeding. When we discuss, we do everything for the discussion and nothing for ourselves. We don't belittle, we don't mock. We don't get a taste for blood, if you will. The reason I've been getting riled up with you is that I tried to offer advice to create more peace and you responded by spreading the battle to my comment; not to fight me but to fight 'them' some more. I *was* avoiding the melee til you brought it to me.

  2. Believe is a flawed word, yes, but hope is too because of why I came to have that "belief" - it being based on experience than wishful thinking alone. I have no interest in the 9,999,999,999,999....th pointless conversation about these things on the internet - it exists only to make us feel good; to reassure ourselves, to make others feel small etc. I didn't even aim advice at you but at people more like myself. I said "leave them alone". Now I say to you, leave US alone. I want *peace*.

  3. I don't think I'm feeding my ego by seeing the fighting as ego feeding. Maybe that's not what you were specifically referring to, I don't know. You have followed the start of this exchange, have you? That's not to be read in a rude tone, it's a neutral question (I find that questions nearly always sound hostile).

  4. Oh DAMNIT! Okay, I'll stop using Taoism and Zen Buddhism as examples. But please people, realise that it's *humans* who are by nature corrupt - all of us to varying degrees. YES religion is by nature corrupt and that's because it's the creation of humans. I'm corrupt, you're corrupt, your parents are/were corrupt, your children are/will be corrupt. The sooner we accept it the sooner we can stop losing sight of it - when we believe that it's just a few things such as religion, we're screwed.

  7. I am one of them. I'm not really, that's just an effective way of crudely identifying myself for the sake of argument. I don't believe in heaven or anything like that, I don't believe in anything we can picture or put into words (my understanding is that consciousness is universal). All that should matter to you is that I don't believe in obnoxiously pushing what I believe or disbelieve onto other people. Live your life and be happy; do not try to spread misery for your entertainment.
