  1. Yeah I completely see what it was she said wrong. It was worded in a way that absolutely did make the distinction between her/those fighting for women's issues and gay or non white people. Did she mean to express it that way? No. Is that even the way she sees it? Probably not. It was a miscommunication. It's foolish of Cenk to be pissed off at the people who read her words as she spoke them - they got the wrong impression of her message but the message they got was the impression her words gave, don't blame people for her poorly worded message. Again, I saw what she meant but it's on the speaker not the listener.

  3. I'd expected to see the ever popular "people are LOOKING for something to get offended over". Okay so is that what you're doing here? Of course not. You're irritated by something justified - they're irriated over something pissy. If I asked every human being alive, s/he would always say that their source of irritation is justified and they'd explain how. Instead of trying to get a true understanding of why people you don't know came away feeling the way they did, you blame them for their conclusions/feelings and top it off by claiming that they go around looking for things to be offended over. You don't even know that any of these people have "gotten offended over" other incidents recently. Do you know any of them? Of course not, they're just "other people" who you see - I might be part of this giant box of strangers, if my behaviour fits your expectations/negative label then I certainly will. If I'm wrong then tell me the name of some individuals you know who "spend all their time getting pissy OVER NOTHING". You just see different people at different times and build up that stereotype as if it's the same person/people. I'm still waiting to find this person who'll say "I just try to find things to be offended by, I just do it for the sake of complaining".

  4. Exactly. When people flying the MRA banner act as so many have done and do every day on this forum, they soil their own reputation. If it were a seemingly vocal minority of them who act as you describe then I'd defend them (like the vast majority of self identified feminists here who are not as described by MRAs). I don't doubt that there are men hating feminists on the planet, the reality is that for all I hear about them I only see the behaviour described in the angry MRAs here. If these feminist bullies really do exist then  the best thing would be to shut up and let them talk because in doing so they would be viewed and judged accordingly. What those of us outside of the MRA bubble see is a hugely disproportionate gang of MRAs acting like hate/anger fuelled bullies while claiming to be under the thumb of bullies. Maybe they're poorly represented but if that's the case then hate those who poorly represent you, not those of us who look on in embarrassment. Even if they WERE the initial victim, that's lost when you cant tell them from their accused oppressor. I've seen rabid feminist websites and rabid MRA websites literally writing blog articles about one another and they're indistinguishable (to everyone but themselves).

  5. It's a really dumb choice of wording. They seem to be saying "we" as in "we liberals" as in "the collection of individuals who expressed themselves". It's a shame to see they/whoever titles these hasn't got past the individual/group problem.
