In 1969, was playing around with a friend's guitar amp. I was swapping around the audio power tubes with some old, random tubes I found in a box under the basement stairs. I blew up at least two caps which probably gave a similar fireworks show, but the caps are all on the underside of the chassis, out of sight. Around that same time I also touched a large capacitor which still had a charge of around 400 volts. That was a painful and memorable lesson. It's very nice to know your analyses of "what happened and why" always agree with my mine. LOL! I have no analyses.
