  1. Dwarf, conjunt twins, intersex... 50 years ago were all (pardon the expression) "freak shows". Now, thanks to the advance in medicine, parents have the choice to 'change' the fetus to the typical norm (male or female, etc), if they want to, in order (maybe not so much to be healthy, but) to be 'socially-healthy' or accepted - to get education, get a job, find a mate, etc. ... and usually it's the mother that decides.
