  1. Despite the obvious "mining problem" I think this could be a great way to start Orbital Energy Farms, where solar panels in outer space gather energy and then no-man battery shuttles bring it down to Earth.

  2. True, but there are some breaktrougs in the field of 'wireless' electricity, maybe you could "beam" or "transfer" the enegy collected in outer space solar panels, down to battery storage facilities on the ground?
