  2. The West is learning a lot by Ukrainian setbacks. Should have sent materiel earlier and in forms that actual military leaders "combine." Too bad our political leadership appears to be "wish based" that Putin will become a "nice guy," kind of like LBJ hoped Ho Chi Minh would be intimidated by huge body counts. LBJ resigned only to be replaced by Nixon, another politician. Winning doesn't look like this.

About the last clip, the 1946 American film "The Best Years of Our Lives" won seven Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director (William Wyler), Best Actor (Fredric March), Best Supporting Actor (Harold Russell), Best Film Editing (Daniel Mandell), Best Adapted Screenplay (Robert E. Sherwood), and Best Original Score (Hugo Friedhofer). Am I saying it's worth a watch? Yes, I am. This war business leaves scars for which we should be prepared.

Most people with lives don't either. They're self-selecting and about as scientific as testing for Salmonella among chickens that run up to be tested.

  7. 12:46 I read that the salary increases for most of these people being sent overseas would keep them in service. Hadn't read about the IRR component. Meeting Europeans isn't all bad but kind of makes your hair stand on end (wait, it already does!).
