  4. Others may like its simple plot as a reason to be as crude and disgusting and think it's a 'classic,' but it's thoroughly unwatchable for me; much like videos of people LOL as they make their Alexas say the word 'fart' over and over again. That's the group this is targeted for, and it shows.

  7. I love this movie but can't get anyone to watch it. Their loss, it's very well-done, and Odenkirk is a great actor.

  11. Not a bad film, though it's off to a slow, ponderous start and doesn't really make sense. Like people are just going to be dismissed as being in some flash flood, no investigation needed. Same with the dad, oh, it's probably just some airline trash...damn! A nice, unique monster for once, too, though again, it couldn't just be there and no one knows for years. But overall, a good film, better than Us by far.

  13. I wish they would just leave it alone. The original was a one-time thing, at a time when the country was in shock still from Viet Nam, the draft, Kent State and Watergate, with unrest everywhere and no one to trust so this hit the right nerve at the right time. A classic which was only improved 25 years later, finally! Heretic was rushed and awful, though 3 turned out OK. The two prequels were average at best and this looks just like too many other ripoffs before it, original canon or not. More girls does not equate with a better film. Love Ellen, but she's not worth the film.

  14. Grade: C-. I watched it because of the filming setup with the computers, but it ended up getting in the way and ruining the experience. The characters were all unlikable bullies and liars; and just ending it without any explanation of what the killer was showed that they lacked maturity from a director's touch. They glanced at online ghosts and regular stalkers, but nothing was ever definitive. It couldn't possibly be just a human, though, as no one types that fast in reply and every person who lost the game got attacked and killed within seconds which is also not humanly possible. The webcams always getting knocked around so that there's not one tiny look at the killer was cheap, too.

  15. Hot and cold. Laughed out loud a few times. Started out funny, and then they had to bring in the subplots and soap opera stuff. I liked how the title character was empowered by bugs, though it seems like a big bug should give more power than a little bug. Meh, it was a good plot device. The worst part for me was Cage's portrayal and accent, especially under that gore makeup; it was cliched and hard to hear at points. Some good effects, but too few. I'm always laughing to see how martial arts fight choreography somehow seems to be used by everyone anymore; aliens, demons, angels, vampires, cultures throughout history (Xena), the list goes on and on. Not all have such excessive gore, of course, that always cheapens a movie for me. The cop lady was totally miscast, I thought, and the F-bombs flew far too much; but the police station was a joke. No way she's at the top of her class, though.

  16. Wow, no wonder this is free on Prime already. What a silly mess of impossibilities and shmaltz, without the original cast they'd be lost. Pratt is just not a good actor at all, and Bryce Howard is over-the-top silly (Bryce is a woman's name?? LOL)

  18.  @simonmatrix  I've never lost a fight, that's for sure. You must fight too much and lose too often. But...THIS is cinema-fighting! Did I really need to explain that? Of course it's ridiculous in many ways, but compared to others, this one at least tries to show some bit of reality and he WANTS to fight and get into it, totally different from most others; he's also not cold-blooded killer, he saves the victims or doesn't shoot them like the couple at his house. NO other hero does that. Plus, the music buildups are great, as well.

  21. Van Helsing was a joke and ridiculously stupid, that whole stone bridge thing failed miserably, and Beckinsale was ludicrous in her perfect hair, makeup and bodice she never popped out of....

  23. Modern vampire incarnations sure do waste a lot of blood, they're more like zombies just in it for tearing flesh then leaving... I wish they had followed the book closer, it was far more ominous without the added characters. Putting a child in it is really silly, as well as the lady, as he didn't need her, that's why the crew vanished. Duh.

  24. If they had LISTENED to the pub nuts, they would've at least stayed on the road and off of the moors, so they did 'deserve' it if only because they would probably have eventually died out there, alone and lost.
