My heart was pounding the whole time watching, as the officer talked to the guy, and then the guy suddenly ran from behind the house (after threatening the cop's life several times). Sad situation. I don't know how police officers can cope with this on a daily basis.

@veganskeletons4131 people who aren't psychopaths care

@charlylucky7508 it's just a troll. Hopefully it gets the help it needs.

@vali.s5109 I have the deepest respect for the good cops out there, making split second decisions and putting themselves in danger. I'm sure that officer had a hard time even though he was trying to save a life.

@checkerslane depends on which state and which town. Some aren't paid enough.
6
@foxxrider250r it may have nothing to do with drugs. There are many very treatable mental illnesses. I wish people wouldn't assume all the time. Hopefully the guy survives and gets treatment.
6
@Bartolomeo.93 no babies are involved in abortion. Learn the words zygote, embryo, fetus. Smh

@christinawilson2667 I support law enforcement. I have retired law enforcement in my family. I think that there would be benefit of more training for some police forces. There are times when cops don't understand psychology as well as they should. There's always room for improvement.

@averymaryheart6679 I'm on the left but I have respect for police officers...we exist lol

@jf5-mars334 serious question: what was the officer supposed to do in this scenario, when he already had been talking with him, attempting to de-escalate, for a long time, and Ethan repeatedly shouted he was going to kill the officer, then charged out towards the cop? It's tragic that Ethan is shot, but tell me what the cop should do when the man suddenly runs from behind the house (after threatening to kill the cop)?

@martyes9563 I'm on the left and I agree with you on this one. Prayers for slain officer's family.
3
@blackjay5338 I'm on the left politically but I also have family who is a retired LEO, and I don't believe defunding is the answer. I do believe in more training, and more interaction (like we see in this video) with mental health professionals.
3
Yes, it's obvious the poor guy was terrified of the hospital.
3
@TheHeavyassaulter only women are incompetent?
3
@kiyokumabear obviously I didn't mean this exact scenario happens to an officer daily, but cops who work in places with high crime, are often put in dangerous situations.
3
@conanthegreat4418 that was another big mistake. I read Marcia Clark's book back in the day. After the case, it came out that at least one of the jury members didn't even understand the difference between blood type and DNA..
2
@hanzfranz7739 yes. There's a story here on YouTube about a guy who was depressed, suicidal, jumped from a bridge and lived. On his way down he realized he didn't really want to die.
2
@devintaylor7049 I'm not a religious person, but I know the basics of the major religions. There's a difference in their beliefs. Not that it matters, because we have no idea why he was lunging at the cop with a huge knife. I understand the cop's decision..Sad all around.
2
@clintoncollier it is tragic. There are also cases of "suicide by cop" which is absolutely heartbreaking.
2
@toomanyhobbies2011 please, describe to me what "our culture" is? Because I have known since I was a little kid what a "melting pot" means..
2
Why do you assume the family is "ok" with him running with the knife?
2
Yes, the more mental health professionals work together with police, the more the situations will resolve with everyone alive.
2
@blackjay5338 exactly! I'm on the left, and most people on the left aren't radical. The radical ones are just noisy.
2
@MsMeriwether until you need one
2
@Love.America Karen's gonna Karen.. 🤣
2
@deckzone3000 10:12 the guy was on high meth, had just broken through a window, was covered in blood and feces, and (after threatening the cop's life) he was running toward the cop. If you can't see him running get yourself some glasses.
2
@cajunshine oops, sorry I guess I need more sleep. 😅
2
@eo9337 social workers can be very helpful sometimes. Also I don't know anyone who thinks police shouldn't exist.
2
@adamwest8711 you realize that's anecdotal? That person may have been suffering from mental illness before starting to smoke.. Show me proof that weed causes mental illness. I'll wait.
2
@foxxrider250r hope you're never on a jury, because you're assuming a great deal about this man, without knowing his history.
2
@MsMeriwether remember that when you need to call them. Life is full of unexpected emergencies.
2
@saamohod the US was supposed to convert to metric in the 70s..we still haven't done it
2
@MsMeriwether good luck in the future
2
@dorinahare8895 most of the time that's exactly what cops do.
2
@juliaj7939 yes, I agree
2
@LManhattan fact: violent crime is down in NY according to NYPD website.
1
@cut-- especially now with the pandemic.
1
@jayk9344 no, but I have a family member who is retired LEO.
1
@MsMeriwether I've been treated horribly by nurses and doctors, but that doesn't make me hate all of them.
1
@RunningBear043 it's not about police?
1
@jayk9344 You don't know what was happening before this video starts. You don't know if they were checking to see if he was ok. We can sit and speculate about that, but the fact is this man was driving straight toward them. It's very sad that a man lost his life. But I don't think the police did anything wrong here.
1
Did you see him going straight for the cop? Watch the video again. He was driving very close to the cop on the left.
1
@RunningBear043 what makes comments "gay"? This thread isn't about the LGBTQ community.
1
@d.j.wellington what specifically do you mean? How do you define their agenda?
1
@Yolsos1776was this force defunded? Source?
1
@RunningBear043 what are "gay thoughts"? Also, I think you mean "you're" 🤣
1
@Paul S never? The 1st cop literally was using those techniques.
1
@HAYAO LEONE yeah, some people go into fight or flight mode really fast. This guy chose flight instead of complying.
1
Do you think the way the police handled the George Floyd situation was correct?
1
You're right. But some people are unfortunately afraid of cops, and then they flee and you have this horrible ending.
