For thousands of years marriage was about being a team; butterflies and sexual ecstasy had nothing to do with it. Nobody expected those things, you were just a team put together by your parents to cope with life together. But now women want butterflies and sexual ecstasy out of marriage, and if they don't get it they leave the marriage or have affairs. The whole concept of being a team has been lost.

Exactly. The problem is that women go into it with the concept that you are applying for the privilege of being her boyfriend. How do you know whether you want to be her boyfriend yet if you don't even know whether you can tolerate being around her. But they assume every man on earth is dying to marry her.

@theequalizer9154 Taiwanese, came with her family in her late teens. Was very traditional and the best possible mate while she was in college studying for her teaching degree. Within a year of beginning her teaching career (in New York City) her attitude towards me totally changed, she began starting fights for no reason and acting like I wasn't good enough. All red flags, but I was too blue-pilled in those days to recognize and interpret them. Part of it was probably that she now had her own career and didn't need me any more, but nowadays I think the loony effinists in the school system, her peers now, changed her attitude towards men, and now she thought that she deserved a much better man than me. I didn't know in those days that women have a hive mentality. Three weeks before the date for our wedding, I came home to find her cancelling all the plans to get married. She never even discussed that with me. I walked in and heard her say on the phone "It didn't work out." All these years later I still have vivid dreams about her and sometimes wake up crying. It was the only happy, successful relationship I ever had even temporarily, including my marriage. It damaged me permanently, but at least now I understand from the other commenters in the Manosphere that this is perfectly typical. They are all hypergamous, and once they get the idea that they can do better, they're as good as gone.

I can see now that they had been falling out of love with me for months, but in those days I was too blue-pilled to recognize the signs that she was ready to move on.

I recently talked with a woman who had made a good impression me at first, but her tats were an immediate red flag so I proceeded with extreme caution. I went through her FB posts carefully and thoroughly, and her past as a 304 and single mother was quickly exposed. All thoughts of asking her out disappeared.

When I first started dating the woman who became the love of my life, I bought a great book about cheap and romantic places to go in the New York City area. I took her to quite a few of those places and have great memories of those low-cost dates. She didn't mind at all that I hadn't showered her with money. But then she found herself a new peer-group at her job, and all of a sudden I wasn't good enough for her any more because I wasn't an ATM.

Absolutely it does. Women want what some other woman has. I literally could've been effing my gorgeous sister-in-law every day. I knew her attraction to me was nothing but envy of her sister having something that she didn't, it had nothing to do with me in particular.
