  5. I appreciate the nuance of your conversation and I agree that the university as an academic institution for higher learning SHOULD be a place for dialogue. But the students' reason for the encampments is about the actions of the university as a corporate entity with billions of dollars to invest, that is not something that can be resolved in a seminar, lecture, or classroom.

Many Canadian commentors are just as bloodthirsty and racist as many Israelis who openly call for extermination of Palestinians, but the Canadians have just enough shame to not say the quiet part out loud. So they have to make up ways to delegitimize the protests (Trespassing! Masks!) or deflect attention from Israel ("where are the protests for ________ conflict?"). It is so pathetic and transparent.
