+Marq Mac Would you be willing to pay $5000 a year for Universal Healthcare?

Marq Mac It'd probably cost around $8000 per tax payer. With $4000 coming from inflation and $4000 coming from you directly paying (assuming you pay tax). So, is it worth about $5000 for each person in America to have full coverage health? Of course funding will have to be cut from other programs, obviously.

John Edwards Which is why it would end up costing more. Instead of paying $800 a year for catastrophic, you'll pay $5000 for full coverage. Bernie's 'free' healthcare will be very expensive. Take a look around, look at the obesity, the pill poppers, the depression, the drinking, the fast food and smoking. All of that adds up, you'll be paying for it.

Japan has very good healthcare that covers the basics and primary health. Full coverage (single payer has levels) from the government costs about $800 a month for a family with 2 parents, 2 grandparents and 2 kids. That's still not going to cover everything, kids will get dental, you'll pay for yours. Plus Japan has private hospitals you pay for direct. I know Bernie sold you on 'free', but there is no 'free' which is why he just tosses numbers out there like $500 a year. This is total bullshit.
