Yes, it's too late. America doesn't exist. We're now just another centrally planned Progressive socialist crap hole. One in which 1 in 5 government schooled graduates are functionally illiterate. We have to pay a Progressive income tax to the State to work. We have to ask the State for permission too work. Hell, some States require a licence to sell flowers. You progressives wanted Big government and a Progressive Central Bank and noe we have the largest most intrusive government in our history, a central bank bailing out the rich (Forward Guidance) and never ending War. John Smith Either/Or much? If we had a LIMITED government (you know, the entire rational for the founding of the nation) then most of the rich would have gone bankrupt in 2008-09. The fact is, when the Government is LIMITED then the rich find little to no use with it - thus, you needn't worry about the rich gaining control over government, because it wouldn't be able to do the things they want it to do. We have an UNLIMITED government, thus the rich own it and use it to their ends. Such as bailing out the very rich you worry about. The Koch's AND Soros made billions more this year. Soros just shorted the Chinese market and destroyed millions of humans life savings - he's a "Progressive Socialist" by the way. But, don't worry, as I said in the OP, we now live in a National Socialistic crap hole and this will continue until we're as poor as other 3rd world socialistic economic crap holes (see: Greece or Detroit as examples of the future USA). I give it another 30 - 40 years.

Thomas is wrong. Government was LIMITED and was NEVER expected to provide "happiness" nor welfare. That's what WE do through trade with one another. Yes, it's too late. Let's hope we see State successions sooner rather than later.

You must treat people equally, not 'progressively'. 2) It's your PURSUIT of happiness - not your happiness. No one can guarantee your 'happiness', that's asinine Progressive psycho-babble. 3) The one, and ONLY one manner in which groups of humans who are part of 'Government' (public) delineate themselves from other groups of groups of humans (private) is that the Public, Government groups, have the legal ability to initiate violence against other, innocent, groups of humans. That's it. A good example would be Drug War. Here we see perfectly innocent human ADULTS smoking a weed (although, given they are adults they should be free to do what they want to with their own bodies) and the State using it's militant arm to cage, even kill, these innocent people - creating the largest prison population of non-violent morally innocent people in history. The big scary Koch brothers can not do that - ONLY the State can. And if you let the State do it, then the rich simply USE the State (see TBTF bailouts) Hell, your psychopath Progressive government legally strangled to death a morally innocent man for selling a 0.50 cent cigarette a month back. THAT is NOT equal. Equal means ANYONE can sell and trade beer, cigarettes, food, love, sex, shelter, money... etc... Oh, but not in the 'Land of the Free', no, we must ask permission from our Progressive Nanny State to sell a god damn cigarette. Our Progressive Socialists have taken away that equality and now we all get to live in your Socialist Paradise where the TBTF aristocracy is bailed out by the PROGRESSIVE Central Bank (yes, started by a f*cking progressive POTUS) and we get stuck paying a PROGRESSIVE income tax for the 'freedom'/right just to f*cking work. Our Progressive State just spent $600 BILLION out of $1.2 trillion on our Progressive Military Industrial Complex to fight phoney wars against women and children. Lightmane321 "Progressive ideals" is a meaningless slogan from the late 1800s. Not to mention, ideals don't build anything, you're speaking in analogy. Further, what was Progressive in one era, is Conservative in the next. Communism had a ton of 'Progressive Ideals'... the didn't work. And will never work. Because Ideals are just that - ideals. Ideas about how you'd like things to be. But, here's the kicker. IF people REALLY DO want you ideals to become reality, then there is NO NEED for the State to use force to make them a reality. Get it? Progressivism is the use of STATE VIOLENCE to force people into following these so called 'Ideals' - which is why all Progressive Socialist States eventuate into Fascist dictatorships. Ours is nearly so. We have had never ending Wars since WWII and endless State. We now have the largest State in the history of the planet earth. What made the USA great was a LIMITED government - this forced people who had good ideas (progressive) into ONLY using voluntary trade to make them a reality. We're now a Fascist crap-hole. I do hope one day soon, some States start leaving the Union.
