  1. +Riley Powell One of the issues with caseless rounds is that the casing of a common cartridge acts as a "heat sink"- it absorbs much of the heat of the detonation and then leaves the gun. (Anybody who's been hit by hot brass leaving the chamber understands this.) Without that, the inside of the weapon heats up much more quickly
