  6. Carrie Lam resigning won’t solve the problem, they’ll just put a Chief Executive just like her in her place. I doubt that officially withdrawing the extradition bill will stop the protests, you give these protestors an inch, and then they’ll ask for a mile. Heck, they’re already demanding independence from China. These sort of people cannot be reasoned with. Besides, the extradition bill has already been shelved, if the government brings it up again, just go back and protest. Simple.

Besides, the rioters are practically begging for the Chinese military to intervene, I’d say the military would be justified in their actions if they did intervene. 3 months is more than enough time to give to the protestors to stop before it’s too late.

  13. dinesh kumar China isn’t targeting the smaller countries in the South China Sea. This isn’t about them, this is about increasing its projection of power and influence farther than the SCS, but can you really blame China? China is surrounded by enemies and would be at a major disadvantage if war broke out. Heck, even America has a strong presence in the SCS, no wonder China is so scared. So why is it okay for America to be in the SCS miles away from their territory but it’s not okay for China to be there? Besides, China hasn’t physically taken over any islands in the SCS in the past 20 years, it only claims 8 islands, the same as the Philippines. But Vietnam on the other hand, has DOUBLED its holdings in the SCS since 1996 from 24 islands to 48 islands up until 2015. Now who is the “bully” here?
