I’m sorry, but where’s the evidence that this video was fabricated?

Søulym Nøkturna What’s so “irregular” about this particular video then? I’d love to hear.

Kabomee Details such as? Proof that it was heavily edited? It looks like a regular recording to me.

He only claimed he was tortured THREE MONTHS after he was released. Sounds fishy to me.

Fat Penguin Moreover, he claimed he was brutally “tortured” during his interrogations. With sharpened batons even. I don’t see a scratch on him.
7
If it’s not a confession...then what is it?
6
Fat Penguin Interesting perspective. Then how do you disprove the videos showing him taking a visit to a “massage parlour”? It was an act as well?

0IIIIII The fact that he’s wearing a shirt in the video doesn’t prove that he was tortured. Why doesn’t he just disprove China’s claim that he wasn’t tortured by taking his shirt off, taking a photo, and post it on social media?

Torture we only know about 3 months after Simon was released? Interesting.

0IIIIII Torture? There’s not a single scratch on him, and he claimed the be beaten by spiked batons? Sure. I believe him. Plus, he only reported torture 3 months after his release? Fishy...
4
0IIIIII Well that’s awfully convenient.

Subaru Yagami So...why doesn’t he take his shirt off to prove his beatings? Where’s his medical record? Actions speak louder than words, after all.

0IIIIII Oh, I don’t know...maybe it’s because they/he want(s) to make China look bad in the face of the Hong Kong protests...I’m really not too sure...
1
0IIIIII Well if that’s what you want to believe, then I’m not stopping you. I can’t argue with stupidity.

to share First of all, the media is not “all” controlled by the CCP, there is the state-run media and there are private news sources (e.g. Caixin), which I will admit has limited reach and are less favoured by the Chinese people who do watch TV (it’s mostly social media nowadays). Second of all, just because it is released by the Chinese government doesn’t prove it is edited. How can you be so sure if you don’t have any proof?
