  1.  @Drabbo  I'm not talking about global warming, I'm talking about climate change, though integrally linked, they aren't the same thing. Global warming is only one aspect of climate change. As for weather manipulation, you are correct, it's been tried for decades, without success. As someone who grew up on a farm, I understand the desire to control the weather, but to quote Mark Twain, "Everyone complains about the weather, no one does anything about it". Truth is, weather and climate are such complex systems it's impossible to control. That's exactly why we have climate change, no one thought that humans could actually have an effect on our climate. Personally, I think we're far past the tipping point, I don't believe that we can do more than stop accelerating it. If we stopped using fossil fuels overnight, it would slow but not stop climate change. We're fooked

  6.  @beyondspace4088  it's not an "anomaly" when every year breaks new records. As for global warming, we know it's happening because we have thermometers, it's also heating the oceans. To be honest, I'm not as concerned about ocean surface temperatures because they fluctuate with regularity. What I'm most concerned with is the Thermohaline Circulation. The amount of fresh water from glacier melt is reducing the salinity levels that are needed to keep the circulation continuing. If it stops, the results will be immediate and disastrous, and would be impossible to recreate.

  8.  @beyondspace4088  that's exactly what I'm talking about, of COURSE the UK is getting colder, the Thermohaline circulation is slowing down, that means the method the earth has to move heat from one region to another is stopping because the salinity levels are falling. It also means that other areas are getting hotter, like in the western US, the heat records are shattering left and right. Thanks for proving my point
