No it's a "resetting" of tax breaks and therefore a subsidy and the money has to come from somewhere. And of course they use roads, perhaps not the high-ways (besides these days).

@seanlander9321 Food is not a normal bussiness. It is part of national security. Relying on importing food from far off is dangerous.

@seanlander9321 Subsidies help artifically reducing the price of the goods so they can compete better against products from outside. The other way is making outside products artifically more expensive by establishing tariffs. Either way it helps the bussinesses to survive within the market. And with food price is secondary because otherwise you get a life-threatening dependency.

Leave it to Germany to debate about a bag of money which is already there. All other governments would just taken the money without asking.

FDP are Neo-Liberals. The left-wing of the Tories or the right side of Democrats or left side of the GOP. The party of tax-dogding and enriching the rich. An awfully bad match with people who learned long ago: You can only make money with money. .... And I thought of all parties the Neo-Liberals would know that.

@seanlander9321 So that's why food imports from America in New Zealand exploded to a 1 bn $ in the last years. Looks like being on your own is bad for bussiness in the Food-industry.
