After BJP got formed in 1980 under ABV-LK ...They expanded quickly in North, West, Centre in UP,MP,HP, Rajasthan and with Alliances in Bihar,Punjab, Maharashtra,Haryana, TN, Karnataka, even Gujarat early on but were lethargic especially fron 2004-2014: Karnataka 2008 was only new state added during that era. 2004 actually was a big shock to the BJP. Advani was in Doldrums:in 2009 he didn't know what to do. Modi-Shah Since 2013 gave party a big majority in North and West and spread party in NorthEast, East and now Trying in South. Earlier Nanaji Deshmukh retired at 60, DD Upadhayaya and SP Mookerjee's deaths in 1967 & 1953 respectively,both in mysterious circumstances : DD Upadhayaya's body was found on Mughal Sarai Railway station , and is named before him by the govt now... And SP Mookerjee' died in 1953 in Jail in Kashmir. And Ofcourse Golwalkar and Hedgewar being the RSS Ideologues, With Savarkar being from Hindu Mahasabha as its ideal but with H MS with whom RSS fought to claim the Hindutva Legacy as earlier Hindu Mahasabha was stronger than RSS. So, BJP-RSS are cadre bases organizations/parties who have successfully managed to capture Indian's minds and that's their big win. No other ideology or organisation has such committed and dedicated workers, barring left-communists but they are very less in number.
