Modi is Male Indira 2.0 She called Janata Party including Desai, Vajpayee as Foreign American Agents. And Stood as Equal to US. India wasn't a Beggar state in 70's except during Janata Party rule.

During Cold War Era, a 25-30 Yr old Independent Country(with Rich Past) with 3 wars within a Decade, with many diversities and problems was able to stay united despite insurgencies in North East, Problems starting in Punjab, Issues in Tamil Nadu, Etc. Isnt it remarkable? Also, USSR was our closest ally back then. And It did help us in 1971.
