@Kaushal Batavia In Telangana Congress still has 30% vote in rural areas but BJP is picking up.. in UP it has 6-7% vote mostly concentrated in Ghaziabad, Saharanpur,Farrukhabad,Lucknow,Raebareli, Allahabad (Prayagraj),Amethi,Kanpur where Cong came 2nd in LS 2019 instead of SP/BSP/RLD.

It's like a Myth Now...Congress is in power only in TN(that too with DMK) in all 5(+1UT so 6) states.. it's main Opposition in Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Puducherry and 0 in Andhra..all vote gone to YSRCP. Out of 132 Lok Sabha seats from South India(39-TN,28- Kar,25-AP,20-Ker,17-Tel,1-Pud,1-Laks,1-A&N) INC won 29(15-Ker,8-TN,3-Tel,1-Kar,1-Pud,1-A&N) whereas BJP won 30(26- Kar,4-Tel)...

I'm a literal Politcal Freak..Always checking old and current elections...even seatwise..LikeI can tell you one interesting stat..Cong lost atleast 15-20 seats to BJP in 2019 by close margin in Guj,Mp,Raj,Chh,Jha... interestingly all/most of them were ST reserved or with large tribal population.. check seats like Patan,Ratlam,In Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand This shows ST vote is with Cong

@manoharchandrashekar2085 I know in Karnataka, Modi is way more popular, although let's see now how it goes...coz under DKS, Siddharamaiah and with JDS completely going down, BJP infighting especially against Yeddy, Cong can make a comeback in 2023.

@patmclaughlin107 Even till G Moopennar, Cong was strong ...till 2006 it used to get 60-70 seats in Alliance with DMK..even in 2011 it fought on 58 seats, in 2016 on 41 seats and in 2021 on just 25 seats

@patmclaughlin107 True.. KS Alagiri(INC TN President) was literally crying to MK Stalin for such less number of seats(25) . Congress wanted atleast 41,last time they fought on. but Stalin was ready to give only 20..finally it was a deal that INC would get 25 VS seats to fight, 1 LS seat by election of Kanyakumari(seat got vacant due to sitting Cong MP H Vasanthakumar who had beaten BJP's Pon Radhakrishan(Central Minister and had won in 2014)in 2019.. Vasanthakumar's son beat Radhakrishan again so INC retained the seat) and 1 RS seat that's getting vacant.

True and majorly since rise of one man to power...see voter turnouts from 1991 LS to 2009 LS...they were falling and people started caring less about politics unlike before 90's..suddenly it shot up in 2014 and the old 70's-80's era of hard politics(with social and digital media) is back.
