  1. Waqar, take no notice of Mordant who is probably a Russian troll acting as an agent-provocateur. If the US didn't sell arms to Saudi then Russia would or China. Yemen is the theatre in which Saudi and Iran have decided to fight a proxy war. The West cannot afford to upset Saudi so turn a blind eye but nobody is enjoying it.

  3. Salim, I wouldn't be so sure. The US has bigger fish to fry than pushing Saudi (who is hopeless at fighting) into a war in Yemen (which Saudi is struggling to lose). Also, it takes two to make a war.....how on earth did the US engineer the Houthi to line up for this fabricated war ?

  6. Salim, you are quite right : it was primarily the British who established the Al-Saud regime. However, just as Yaser Arafat was funded by Gulf money but did whatever he pleased, so the Saudis are obligated to the Yanks but still embroil themselves in a war they can't win in Yemen. I just don't see what's in it for the Yanks.
