Well Iran is an Islamofascist state, it's leaders believe in Armageddon & the coming of the 12th Imam , to which end they have promised to wipe Israel off the map and are pursuing nuclear weapons to achieve that goal. So the US aim to achieve the neutralising of the fanatical Ayatollahs and a return to civilised secular government.
