I spent a lot of time around the homeless. It has a lot more to do w drugs than it does freedom.

My god, are you serious? You can import ppl FAR faster than you can build homes. This is straight up policy failure, yet you blame the private sector for not keeping up w irresponsible and lobbyist driven policy… Give your head a shake.

@rps1689 Pretty sure it has more to do w policies that grow the population faster than the housing stock. You try to sound smart talking investment incentives and capital gains and bla bla, but this is merely a matter of supply and demand. Importing and creating more ppl than you can build housing for = housing crisis. Edit: This has been a bipartisan f up, btw.

In a situation where expanding housing stock faces all these issues do you… A) Attempt to go head by head on the hydra, most likely in futility, while more and more demand pours through the gates, effectively handing the architects of what you describe everything they want on a silver platter, or… B) Address the most obvious issue, stop throwing more competition for housing into the market, and then deal w the hydra while things stabilize for a little while? One is doable. The other is a decades long and probably hopeless grind.
