After living in Geneva, London and New York City I find Tokyo to be surprisingly ( very ) affordable. I ended up buying a house in Tokyo and Yamagata..for a small fraction of what I would've spent in those 3 cities !!

@irbvek New York is slightly more expensive yet the quality of life is lower.

@earlysda I dont owe you ( or anyone ) any explanation. All I can say that with the amount of money that I spent on those two houses, I still won't be able to buy a house in my hometown Geneva let alone two.

@thefurmidablecatlucky3 Depends. I had lived in Singapore for awhile and yes, Tokyo's more expensive but not so much. Just a little bit compared to Singapore.

@geddon436 So far so good. My dentist is infact, excellent. And I had a surgery before ( broke my left shoulder during skiing ) and it went great.

@geddon436 monthly fee for Kokumin Kenko Hoken is different for each persin, depends on their income, residence etc. For me, my monthly KKH is around ¥60k / month. I also got an insurance from my workplace.

@earlysda I only WISH that Im very rich. I just want to dispelling the myth that Tokyo is super expensive. It is NOT. Especialy nowadays that the value of Yen is depreciating quite a lot.

@Hatulitos Yes, it is cheap. And even cheaper if you go to cities outside Tokyo.
