Of course India is not an independent country then. You may not consider Sikh State as part of India. You also are ignorant about the war of Magadha Indian state, where a Chinese joined forces with Tibet and Nepalese to capture 2,000 Magadha prisoners. Yes, all these war involved Tibet. History of the 1841-42 Sino-Sikh has clearly written that Tibet was represented by China Qing Dynasty.

Tibet receives government power from China. So, China has the legal right to claim Tibet both as protector state and government state.
