  1. - Attempted a coup; when it failed, blamed opponents, distorted reality, made martyrs of those attempting to overthrow the democratic government. - Came to power while not winning the popular vote. - Found a direct communication channel to their base, bypassing balanced or opposing media. - Blamed racial minorities, divided the population on racial lines. - Relentlessly demonized opponents, calling them leftist scum. - Unceasingly attacked objective truth - the only truth was that proclaimed by his party. - Relentlessly attacked mainstream media. - Attacked science that did not agree with their philosophy. - Lied constantly to blur reality. - Orchestrated mass rallies to show status. - Embraced extreme nationalism - promised to make the country great again. - Made closing borders a centerpiece, freezing immigration. - Embraced mass detention and deportation of "undesirables." - Protected selected industries, manipulating trade policy to do so. - Cemented rule by enriching elites, increasing power of corporate executives and undermining labor unions. - Rejected international norms, abrogating treaties and bullying smaller nations. - Attacked the domestic democratic process, purging voter roles, questioning the ability of a democratic government to solve the nation's problems. - Attacked the judiciary and the rule of law - politicized the independent judiciary system. - Glorified the military and demanded loyalty oaths. - Relegated women to subordinate roles, valuing them only as wives and mothers. - Proclaimed unlimited power, not subject to laws. Oh, for the record, that list was all things Hitler did. Though as we've seen, every item there is true of the fascist orange traitor as well. We saw what happened in Germany. Don't let the same happen to America.
