  1. In today's terms, Jesus would have been called a Libertarian. He explained the rules, explained what was expected and it was your choice to continue. It is not often mentioned God was a small government deity. When the ancient Jews demanded a human king to replace the then religious governing body of Israel, God warned them of the woes of secular government would create, that there would be wars and taxes and burdens to satisfy the king. God set the tax take of the new government at 10%. As you might expect, there always seem to be a reason to increase the tax rate as well as wars and burdens imposed. Islam is almost impossible to reform. The Quran is considered perfect as is and it would take some devine being to alter the words of Allah.

  2. God set the rules on homosexuality and it was seen as a failing. The purpose of marriage was not only to have kids but to symbolize the relationship of God and man/woman. 2 different beings as one. Going by what Jesus preached, there was supposed to be toleration but he never preached against what God disapproved of.
