@rdsc.455 I do not think Putin is looking for peace. He longs for the Russian Empire and he is a KGB man and a egotist. Turkey is acting like a wholesaler and the only reason they get any play at all is because of the lack of communication between Russia and NATO. Putin has to come out this smelling like roses or he has no reason to make peace. He probably see's the rest of Europe as a bunch of weaklings. The best thing Europe has going for itself is Xi Jinping probably sees China as taking the hit for any economic wreckage Russia creates.

A lot of Russian bots say that.

I hope that Russians give the Chinese a big hug for keeping the lights on in Moscow.

The Democrats gave us healthcare. And it is not very affordable.

He's fun, better than Netflix.

Sure, blow up a pipeline no one is using.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

@asianamericancasestudies6434 You are forgetting Africa and South America. Business flows to lowest labor costs. Technology gets increasingly expensive to advance. Asia, if it has a moment will not last very long.

Back in the 90's when everyone's palms were getting hot and sweaty over trade, I thought the thinking was a bit too hopeful about trade with China. Eventually China will turn Germany into it's plantation.
1
I think it was Russia that invaded Ukraine.

@Mike Arnold NATO reminds me of the Bob Hope line: "Brave men run in my family".
1
@Mike Arnold My hunch is if NATO went it, it will be quite amusing watching Putin explain the mess to Russians. I can't speak in any depth on the subject but I get the sense the majority of Russians feel no better about this war than Westerners do.
1
If you are European; 90 would be a massive step up for the Democrats in the United States. So don't complain, you have it better than you think.

When he can stay awake.

@NubiansNapata Read the history of China. It was a messy little affair.
1
If the U.S. didn't get them, the Japanese or Chinese would have. There is no way Hawaii would have remained independent. Too prime a location. By the way, China has shown the Hawaiian Islands fit perfectly in their defense zone.

China has enjoyed the benefits of modern technology. You can't blame the west while at the same using the technology the west created. It's hypocritical at best.

You can't blame the west while at the same enjoying the technology the west created and these countries wanting more of it. It's hypocritical at best.

At the end of it all, Russia will have nothing but oil to sell. The world is not lining up to buy Ladas. Putin has reduced Russia to a satellite state of China, dependent on Beijing to keep the lights on in Moscow. The Chinese buy oil from Russia, but the Chinese sell everything else to Russia.
1
Russia has cut itself off from one of it's largest customer base. Basically the lights are kept on in Moscow because of China. Selling energy to Europe was very easy money for Russia. Pump the oil and gas then sit back and collect big checks.

We are sooooo screwed.

Putin has a big ego? Putin has a HUGE ego.

@kmtgoddess7793 China is now starting to cut out that option for their students. Chinese students that go abroad come back with bad ideas. And that is not good.
1
@hkfoo3333 The publications I listed are tools of the Communist Party. That would be like me expecting the Washington Post or the New York Times to tell the truth about the Democrat Party, both are tools of the party.
1
@hkfoo3333 I bet your sources for that is the Chinese Communist Party, The People's Daily and the Global Times.
1
@kmtgoddess7793 If it was so good why do so many Chinese try to get into the United States?
1
You might upset the Turks and keep in mind Turkey is starting to have a real love feast with the Russians and you know how grouchy the Russians are.

Burns is widely admired within the PBS set but I have seen multiple people point out his.... "distortions".
1
PBS is funded by a lot of nice white middle class Progressives. And NPR... run by a lot of nice middle class Progressive women who like to sit around and giggle that they really are better than anyone else. I confess I was a Progressive many years ago but one thing I can't stand is the lie and distortions machines of the left of which PBS and NPR are part of. I will say I regard NPR worse than PBS and PBS does produce some worthwhile programming. There are very good reasons people do not like either network.
