Israel wanted to back off years ago. The PLO's response to Israel: We want to drive the Jews into the sea.

Chinese products will become more expensive.
1
Germany runs a trade deficit with China. Russia has no problem attacking it's neighbors. If Russia attacks, the U.S. will have to bail out Europe.
1
Several countries wanted to sign mutual aid treaties because of China's activities in the region. America didn't have to bully them into it. China did.
1
Yeonmi Park is cute :) Other defectors have come through saying similar to her. Remember ALL defectors can go back home to North Korea if they wish. Very, very few do.
1
@truthtellerfreethinker7311 When North Korea allows it's people to move around freely, I'll call her a con artist too.
1
You are on Chinese television because they know you will not embarrass them.
1
I do know Vietnam wanted a treaty with the United States for mutual defense against China. Not very forward looking wouldn't you say?
1
@joelle4471 Disturbance is the word. I do not see China as peaceful. The leadership is cunning.
1
@Shenzhou. Income distribution.
1
@thechloromancer3310 No, job loss is just starting. Plus other countries want high value. Countries like India are starting to make their moves plus India is a liberal democracy. Other countries that supply China with raw materials will start demanding sophisticated industries. Sure selling iron or copper ore is fine, but if you want them, you will buy them fully processed in our factories.
1
They still have statutes of Lenin and Josef Stalin in Russia.
1
None of this may matter if China's friend without limits Russia decides to start nuking Ukraine. Once that happens a space station will be the last thing on anyone's mind.
1
Vietnam in 1979. Constant threats to Taiwan and Japan. Tibet. Philippines. The grab of the Sea Of China. Strip mining the fishing grounds of smaller countries that can not defend themselves. Hardly the actions of a peace loving government.
1
Tell China to stop sending spies over then you can feel comfortable again.
1
I can't remember the last time Cyrus said anything slightly negative about China. That's strikes me as bias. We lose a few scientists but we gain Chinese businessmen and people who want to free of the Communists. What does that say about the U.S.? And who knows, some of those Chinese students may be spies and maybe they are in positions where they may feel they will get caught.
1
Someone like myself watched how these countries developed and what they did internationally since the 1960's. China is relentlessly running a pr campaign to show how wonderful they are,. YouTube is loaded with this sort of thing. China has made it clear it wants to be top dog and that they will be the leader of the pack. Cyrus doesn't mention how China roughs up it's neighbors and several want defense pacts with the United States to counter China's bullying. If things were so swell, why would China's neighbors want protection from China?
1
@beesplaining1882 China is not laying out billions around the world and not expecting something back for it. Many U.S. bases around the world have little staff or military equipment. They are closer to listening stations and lightly manned. The U.S. can't afford too many large installations, it is just too expensive.
1
@aria_1237 Read the news like the rest of us do.
1
They said the same things about the Soviet Union back in the 1920's and 1930's. Now the Soviet Union is gone and Russia is attacking the Ukraine. For one, you must ignore China's bullying the countries that surround the South China sea. Even Russia's azz kissing cousin India signed a defense deal with the U.S. because of China's peaceful and neighborly ways.
1
The United States tries to tie economics and human rights together. The Chinese do not care who their borrower governments kill.
1
The Philippines love the ones they are with.
1
@masahirukouta21 It was agreed upon the Republic Of China would get control of Taiwan after the Japanese surrendered. The Republic Of China is the government that now resides on Taiwan. The United States was allied with the Republic Of China during World War 2, not the Communist Party of China.
1
The argument over NATO is a waste. Since the 1900's how many times has The Soviet Union/Russia marched into neighboring countries versus how many times has NATO attacked The Soviet Union/Russia? Half the time you can't get the EU to decide on what to have for dinner. And the half you can't get the EU to agree with the United States.
1
Installed Russians is a good way to describe it.
1
It started the day the Russian Empire conquered Ukraine centuries ago.
1
Several years ago China told Chinese Tic-Tok to clean it up. Their Tik-Tok did.
1
If the United States enforced the same internet rules China does... ...Cyrus would be off the internet. I should add complaining about a leaky kitchen faucet won't get you banned in China, complaining about bad government policy will.
1
@tat3179 If you had the good fortune to read previous posts of mine, surpass was never a concern of mine. You appear to be not fortunate.

@user-fiF5ei8tyah No

I wonder why Argentina went to China to get money? Any ideas Cyrus?
1
I did read it in the mainstream media and it was evident Sri Lanka could not pay off the loan from the beginning. If you have something China wants they will give you a loan too. And if you can't pay it off, oh well.
1
@zeusmaryusep If the dollar drops, the Chinese Yuan goes up and boy what that will do to their exports. On the other hand, U.S. exports will go up and that will mean more jobs, maybe even better paying jobs and the Chinese will lose theirs. There will even be more money to start paying down the debt. Could a country face a worse fate than that?
1
@zeusmaryusep Let's see.. if the Chinese want gold and the U.S. says no gold, what happens? China has closed factories and many unemployed. Other countries will be building up their industrial bases and China will have much more competition and few people to sell to. China will probably say ok to U.S. dollars. As China's trade surplus drops and more gold leaves the treasury the Chinese will say we are losing our reserves. As reserves drop China will have to devalue the Yuan. That means raw materials will cost more. Imports start costing the Chinese more while imported food and fuel will go up in price. All that is gold is not always golden :)
1
@kanlu5199 Competition is happening now, examples being India and Vietnam. Many factories can go up weeks. Africans want some of the action too. In 5 years the world economy will look quite a bit different.
1
@kanlu5199 If I have to do your research for you I charge $250/hour. Paypal accepted. I gave you two freebies.
1
Gold is wonderful until you start running trade deficits. Then China will slam shut the gold window. As for Russia, they are becoming a welfare client of China. China has been keeping the lights on in Moscow.
1
An invasion by any other name is still an invasion. I guess we should thank Russia for making the world safe from Ukrainian apartment buildings.
1
If the U.S. limited trade from Mexico, the Mexican market would shrink.
1
The U.S. can fine tune trade policy with Mexico, limiting Chinese companies access to the U.S. market.
1
Mexico would look like Cuba without the U.S. China is only building in Mexico to benefit them. If the U.S. reduces imports from Mexico, what will Mexico do? Export their stuff to China?
1
China has done remarkable things. But China is driving up a huge credit card bill and at a time the global economy is in a state of change. China's economy may start peaking out as other nations develop manufacturing economies. What you could see is a flood of goods causing deflation and reduced economic growth around the world. A man who has no problem locking up people on a mass scale has no problem making war on other nations. Make no mistake about it, Xi Jinping is not a nice guy.
1
@ablam8 Russia will be a colony of China soon as China buys raw materials from Russia and then sells back to Russia everything the Russians can make but at lower Chinese prices. The rail line is slow and expensive and may never generate the hoped for traffic. If Europe reduces oil usage Russia will experience a decline in revenue. Russia will have to get by by selling commodities but that will cause a brain drain as Russians with high tech talents will move to the west due to lack of opportunity in the country. Also, after Russia needlessly attacked Ukraine how many companies will risk investing in Russia?
