it is because of the harly quinn movies. a little reminder. she was never a main character. she was Jokers love interest and his punching bag. Is why Batman had a saviour complex for her. a hot sexy sideckick mess she was. blame hollywood and feminism for making her into a main character that no-one asked for.

lets not pretend that Modern Harly quinn has anything to do with the comics. consider the resent comics about her is based on the movies that contradict her entire character as a whole. she was and still is Jokers love interest and his punching bag. yes Jokers relationship is that of an abusive one. this is the main and only reason why she think he needs her and the same reason why Batman has a saviour complex for her. hollywood made her into something strong and brave, a character that was since birth of creation was very much a weak, pitiful hot lunatic that coudnt be fixed. this is why she would never worked as a main character.
