  1. Most likely not a lack of training. Probably laziness. I've seen it. Some techs don't want to invest any time in diag. They just want to swap parts. Diag doesn't pat very well. One of the reasons I left the dealership was that my dispatcher was giving me all of the time consuming diag jobs because the other techs kept "no problem found"ing them. Instead of pushing back and telling the techs to figure it out, he'd give them something else and pass it over to me. I went to work on a Saturday and told him, "I'm tired of your bullshit. Today's my last day". He was pissed.
