  1. These Euro cars don't like low voltage. The gearbox fault is almost certainly due to low voltage. I'd replace the alternator and clear the codes. Porsche's are notorious for this, especially Cayenne's with the under seat battery and trunk battery. That being said, I respect your decision to refuse the job. Trying to convince the service writer to refuse the job was probably about as easy as that Subaru A/C compressor.
