  1. A hook is much less likely to break the outlet. Grabbing and twisting can break a plastic housing.

  2.  @Rekuzan Been doing this for 30 years. Trust me, sometimes careful doesn't matter. There's no downside to using the hook. You still twist off. The hook just breaks the "stiction".

  3. Spray a little brake clean on the outside of the hose and the clamp will slide right on. When the brake clean dries, there's no residue and the hose is unharmed.
