Nope. We just bought a new Lexus NX350h. The ac will run on the Hybrud battery pack for around 30 minutes straight wo the engine running. Once the hybrid battery gets used up by the AC, the engine will start for 5 minutes to recharge the battery to a certain level, the shuts down again. This is even on a 90F day.

My wife drives 5k a year as well. We still bought a new Lexus hybrid SUV. Love having to gas up every 5 weeks.

@LiquidSm0ke not worry at all. We consistently take her car everywhere to get the battery discharged and recharged. Plus it gets much better MPG than my 2017 ES350 V6. We plan to keep it for a long time. It will be gift to my daughter when she finishes college in about 8-9 years, she just started highschool. If and only if the battery fails, it will be a few $k only, worth it to replace, it is cheaper than a new car since we are the original owner. BTW, we are in the SF Bay Area and there are plenty of hybrid only independent shops here. They can replace the battery much cheaper than the dealership charges.

Same here. Bought my wife one a few months ago, our first hybrid and loves it. I am now waiting for the next gen ES hybrid to replace my 2017 ES350.

I doubt that. Ending the sale of ICE does not mean ending sale of hybrids and PHEV. The millions and millions of cars currently on the road will next gas too for another decade after 2035. Gas stations won’t disappear overnight.

Most likely under the rear seats.

Depends. If your kids are older and how many. My 2 teens are driving now, so we don’t need much rooms for stuff. I just bought her a new Lexus NX350h and loves it. Now I am waiting for the next gen ES hybrid to replace my 2017 ES350.

Yes it is. California here and we go 75-80 consistently. Gas mileage on my wife’s new Lexus NX350h beats my 2017 ES350 V6 on MPG all day everyday. Especially City, she gets at least 38MPG with short trips.

I assure you that I have driven 90+ on the NX hybrid wo breaking a sweat. It may not be as quiet as my ES350 because the ES is lower. I would think the new Camry hybrid will go 90 all day everyday

LC500h all day everyday if you don’t have kids. RX500h+ if you do. NX450h+ if you use the rear seats occasionally.
