If you are concerned about acceleration, this is not the car for you. Get a $60K Tesla instead. This SUV cost starts at around $24K and 30MPG+ on the highway. It is a appliance on wheel in a good way.

Exactly my thought. If you want Lexus quiet, get a $40K Lexus. If you want acceleration, get a $60K Tesla. If you want a nice BMW or Mercedes badge, get the X1 or GLA. This Cross is a nice tool to get you from pint a to b reliably without breaking the bank.

They are all noisy in this segment. All are 4 cylinders SUVs like Mazda, Honda, Nissan……don’t expect Lexus quietness for a $26-28K car.

Camry. Roomier and more refine in terms of quietness. You do sit higher on the Cross though.

@rightlanehog3151 yeah that was the good old NUMMI plant, now a Tesla plant.

Some people do like to sit higher. Like my wife she doesn’t like to drive my Lexus ES350, she only wants SUV, she drive a Lexus RX350.

@kenhoward3512 All of these cars you mentioned are noisy 4 bangers no matter how you cut it. Don’t expect Lexus quietness on a mid/upper $20K car.

@kenhoward3512 I wouldn’t expect it either at $25-30K price point. We have a Lexus NX Hybrid on order, moderately spec at around $46K and it is surprisingly quiet, not at my Lexus ES350 level though. But again at $30K the Cross Hybrid price is great if it can get 45+ MPG.

If you don’t need backseats, get the UX Hybrid. The Cross has more rearseats and sits higher.

Fully wrap it, will cost you a 3 thousands though.

@rightlanehog3151 Long time Lexus owner here. Always use Mobil 1 but change oil every 7.5Kmiles and always Michelin. No rustproofing needed here in the SF Bay Area.

@rightlanehog3151 haha. Now we’ve got all these pesky Teslas running around here.

I have sat in one of these Cross from my co worker and there is no way it ride better than my 2017 Lexus ES350. Which year of ES are you referring to?
