  2. That's because they spent all this time trying to create realistic animatronics that they forgot to have somebody do a script that made a lick of sense.

  3. The FX houses? Most of them get nickel and dimed by the studios and workers themselves burn out due to overwork/underpay. It's really sad to ruin people's passions like that.

  4. 100%. These dummies in Hollywood think that the script doesn't matter. The script is MOST of what matters. Name me a special effects movie with an incredible script that bombed. Doesn't matter if it's a 75yr old comic book property or a brand new concept. You can not save a bad script with good CGI. Blows me away how often you hear a movie got greenlit with a 9 figure budget and no script but filming starts in 7 months.

  5. A lot of old stuff gets overly criticized because we are watching it on 65 inch TVs in 4K as opposed to the busted little ghetto TVs they were originally meant for. If you watch it on one of those TVs, it still would look fantastic.

  7. Film is more forgiving than HD? Wildly incorrect. A 35mm frame of film has about 20 megapixels of resolution. HD is literally 2. It's literally 1/10 the resolution. Lenses have improved etc but the resolution of film is way, way , way better than HD. That's why you can find 4K movies from the 80's that look like legit 4K.

  9. And on a blockbuster, a great script will net you possibly hundreds of millions extra, yet it's treated as almost an afterthought (or if it's not, then I don't know what to say because too many scripts are absolute first draft garbage).
