This reminds me of when a runaway barge rammed up against an abutment for the Peace Bridge between Fort Erie and Buffalo. There was a huge crowd on both sides of the river. I walked up the bridge to where the portable office for the United States Army Corps of Engineers were, looking down. They said this was the largest cable in America, capable of picking up a submarine from the seabed. It was getting dark, and it tightened, and then it snapped, making a huge sound as it slapped around the water like a crazy snake, and then it stopped and sank, and incredible thing to see. I can only imagine they will have to remove all the cargo before they can even try.
