Just like the right is teaching their children lax gun safety, that it's OK to scream at people if you don't get your way and that respect is something that "others" don't deserve. What if those perceptions are wrong though. Take Thanksgiving for example. I learned in school the settlers and natives got along well. It wasn't until later in life I learned that was a farce and we slaughtered them. Our history ha been whitewashed. Even when it comes to the black history of this country. We never learned about red line laws or Jim crow laws in school. Yet another thing erased from our history lessons.

@jamestheelder87 I wasn't saying that but I do agree they put out students of lesser quality. I mean if the theory of evolution and other sciences are not being taught that kinda puts a kid behind.

@isaacwhull you have little to no understanding of early 20th century employment do you? Do you know why they came into existence in the first place? Put it this way, all the labor standards we have today can be attributed to unions. That being said, today's unions are a different thing than the ones back then

Don't most high schools offer a work placement program for school credits. They did when I was a kid and I got a carpentry job from it. Unfortunately teaching trades right out of a school would be very costly to set up.

@americafirst5453 well, a couple things to unpack there. The shop I got to use in my grades choose would cost half a million bucks to put in today. That being said, my grade school was built at the turn of the 20th century. Second, an illegal immigrant that is here, illegally, cannot apply for government assistance. They also have to work for cash to live here. When they purchase food or clothing they pay taxes on that purchase so in reality they don't cost anything while being here and actually contribute through the sales taxes they pay.
