God forbid they learn actual American history and not the white washed version in textbooks

@nkfd4688 how is that moot? It's their history and white people are trying to say it shouldn't be taught. Are you fricking kidding me?
10
So why is black history so wrong to teach?
9
@Eric-xe8yg sure it does. Back when democrats were full of conservatives they did some pretty heinous things to the black population. Why would modern Republicans not want that taught?
8
@Andrea Malfatano it's Republicans willfully ignoring history which is embarrassing.
6
@theguybehindyou4762 you don't like the history of America so you want it ignored?
6
@SHEEP HURTER well, for a long time race dictated your station in life in America. We should teach that history too as it's important not to repeat.
5
@The_Lord_has_it well there were laws written keeping black people from taking advantage of capitalism so why shouldn't it be taught. Red lining laws are a prime example. So was the GI bill after WW2.
5
Exactly so why shouldn't this be taught.?
4
@TheVaspar I have done my research. I've read up on the curriculum and even studied some of it. The only reason for this outcry about crt is because white people feel guilty and would rather not hear it. Too bad
4
@theskyisfalling_9012 I am a white man and I feel no guilt. But then again I am not running from history either. There must be some reason why you guys don't want it taught. Perhaps read up on it and understand the curriculum before you dismiss it.
3
@The_Lord_has_it you seem pretty close minded towards American history. I understand you don't want to hear white people used to breed black people to create larger slaves, or how black people who fought in ww2 were not allowed access to the GI bill for returning troops. I also understand why you wouldn't want your grandkids knowing laws were created less than 100 years ago that took the black populations ability to own a home away. I can understand why you don't want your grand kids to know that, otherwise they may attribute those actions to you.
3
@TheVaspar please tell me where in the CRT curriculum do they teach segregation. You sound like you're knowledgeable on the subject so what part? That way I can read it and corroborate what you said.
3
@Randy-md6xl no one thinks they're idiots. There have been laws written that stopped the black population from home ownership and the ability to chase the American Dream. Those laws were the thing that has created a two teir class system in America.
3
@carlostuggle6515 not really. What part of crt is not just the history of black people in America?
3
@michaelmarceau4863 fine then what does CRT teach?
3
@Personal info I would go with the curriculum being taught by your local school district. That way when they are done they will have a diploma worth something to a college admissions panel. Otherwise they won't get too far in life.
3
@seanblankenship5404 yes they did. Gradually over about 50 years.
2
@Randy-md6xl for your information, some of the older developments in the south still have written in their home owners association bylaws that you can't sell to a black family. Still to this day.
2
@jeffreygunn3530 Jesus are you ever dumb. Do you think US history starts at the year 2000? This has been a problem for centuries man
2
@bilbobaggins1934 I know, it's because trump spent years saying he wasn't American and wouldn't shut up about it until he showed it. Trump shelf said he was wrong ffs.
2
@jeffreygunn3530 I think you've confused me for someone who wants a petty conversation.
2
@Randy-md6xl except their history or ability to hold a national conversation about police killing them. Then they're not equal. Funny, the military tells their troops that when they are standing in formation that if they feel dizzy to take a knee. Yet black people do the same and you guys go full bigot on them. You can't have it both ways
2
How so? I am sure you can give me examples from the curriculum seeing as you sound like you've done your homework
2
@The_Lord_has_it you are far less intelligent than you think. Not that you don't have a head full of information, it's just all of it is wrong. It's called the Dunning Kruger effect
2
@The_Lord_has_it so you have obviously spent a total of zero minutes actually reading up on what CRT is. It is this lazy and gullible behavior that keeps this country torn apart. If you would just spend some te researching a subject instead of opinion hosts giving you an opinion on it you would be a lot less ignorant.
2
If this refusal to teach black history isn't proof there are many bigots in America I don't know what is.
2
@Randy-md6xl how do you reverse the effects of red lining laws?
1
@seanblankenship5404 he is talking ideology here. In the Civil war, Republicans were far more liberal than the democrats were. This isn't rocket science here.
1
What interests are those?
1
@jeffreygunn3530 that's a lie. It's literally unvarnished black history
1
@The_Lord_has_it gonna be honest here, once you got to aliens I stopped reading. If you want an adult conversation leave that petty crap out of it.
1
@SHEEP HURTER wrong, it's ment to teach the history white washed from our country past
1
@Randy-md6xl Jim crow was not a liberal, he was a conservative. I don't cate what the party name was.
1
@Randy-md6xl yes, conservative democrats. Liber Republicans are the ones who went against it all. Can you really tell that conservatives used to be for equality but they're not now? If Republicans were for equality and fairness they wouldn't have a problem with this course. You would rather me believe that conservatives freed the slaves and then decided to regress? That's what would be needed to make your statements true.
1
@Randy-md6xl doesn't that happen to a black man in the south regularly? Is it wrong only because it happened to you?
1
@Randy-md6xl when did I say that?
