@clairebatieste9287 well seeing as the republican senators were saying he was innocent even before any evidence was presented I would say his acquittal was a farce. Every republican senator swore an oath to be impartial. Having a conclusion before seeing the evidence is literally the opposite of impartial. If it was a criminal case the jurist would have been given the boot for their comments

@kylesmiddy2075 no that would have been horrible for our carbon footprint. It's the dirtiest oil you can mine and requires gobs of energy to extract. Yes we are still getting it by rail and truck but it's choking off Canada's export capacity which in turn will not allow them to fully develope their oil sand keeping it in the ground. Also, there were no pipeline workers put out of work seeing as no one was hired yet. The people driving those trucks and working the rail lines, building those rail cars and trucks and trailers are working now and being paid well. Their wages are essentially being paid to move that oil. That's what the oil company wants is to eliminate that cost. Those pipeline jobs that will be a temporary job will in turn leave som many more unemployed.
