@BigBadJerryRogers I listen to everything from Fela to Death Metal. I am stating that in '79 Disco was dead. "Hip" people were already listening to punk and New Wave.

@johnlucier5654 Punk did not suck, you probably think that Queen "rocks." Cutting edge people were going to Punk clubs, they were the real trend setters, not these middle aged coke heads. Yes following fads makes you really lame.

@BigBadJerryRogers Not saying Disco didn't influence corporate crap in the 80's, it did. Punk didn't get air time because radio was about selling the the most vanilla music to the most people. My original statement was if you were "hip" you were not going to these clubs. They were full of 30 somethings and fresh of the farm Sailors. Cool people were already listening to the first wave of punk.

@BigBadJerryRogers First wave of punk did not have "pits". I went to many shows at Bing Crosby hall, that were packed. These bands were later labeled as "new wave", but in '79 they were "punk." You are thinking of the Hardcore Scene which way way different then the scene in '79.
