  1. This seems like the perfect neoliberal solution to a collapse of our caplistist society. Forgiving the current student debt would infact help with the symptom but does nothing to fix the underlying problem. This is not a solution. What about students graduating in 2021 and after? This is the equivalent of the 2008 bank bailouts where the underlying problems with our too big to fail banks wasn't fixed. Don't get me wrong we need to help those who are in financial crisis but we need to fix the underlying problem with our broken system. This has been a distraction from the underlying problem with our society. We no longer have a society which provides our youth with the skills they need to be productive members of our society. In the early 1900s our society expanded public education from 8 years to 12 to provide the skills needed by their society. Today the skills our youth needs require a 16 year education. But don't let the neoliberals and the conservatives move the conversation to if we can or cannot treat the systems which we must treat because that false debate allows the broken system to contine.
