Too funny they focused on the cost for months and not what was in the bill now they are upset that that let the right wing cut the bill. 🤣🤣🤣

@thuglifeinc4894 tell that to the right wing of the party

Except that it isn't dead yet. The progressives can force party leadership to do their job and get the votes to pass the orginal bill by voting down this compromised mess.

@devineglen without every single vote they can't pass anything so you can make the same argument that Bernie Sanders and Ed Markey have the same power to pull the party left

@nfzeta128 Nancy Pelosi was forced to cancel a vote on the infrastructure bill Friday. That is what winning looks like for progressives

@budomk9299 the left expands by throwing out the right wing. If the Democratic party leadership hadn't saved Joe Manchin in his last primary there would be one more progressive in the senate today

You have to vote down this bill and the infrastructure bill and make a new reconciliation bill you only get one more of those bills this year that is filibuster proof. The infrastructure bill is must pass legislation to fund state level Departments of Transportation. That is the leverage that allows you to get anything sence the other must pass military budget had already been increased by 10 billion dollars after the removed a 109 billion dollar expensive from their budget ending the war in Afghanistan. Meaning they already have an additional 119 billion over the non Afghanistan war related military budget from last year this year. We can afford that but somehow glasses for elderly voters and 2 years of public education for youth is too expensive. Go figure.

@The_-_- no we are not going to accept crumbs and will force them to do better with the must pass legislation to fund the DOT. Because 55 billion dollars a year for the climate is unacceptable for a country that spends 750 billion per year on a military to defend itself from much smaller threats than the climate crisis is to humanity. We are saying go back and do better this isn't good enough
1
@The_-_- over 10 years 550 billion is 55 billion per year vs 750 billion for the military I stand by my ability to divide by 10.
1
@The_-_- you don't need Republicans to stop the shutdown you need 2 Democrats. Stop hiding behind the GOP
1
@The_-_- so would you be happier if I compare 555 billion to 8 trillion over 10 years??? You have to compare the time line of the military budget to the timeline of the climate crisis budget to know which is the bigger priority. I mean if I offered to pay you $100,000 to work for me you would probably want to know if that was for a single year of a decade of labor before you decide if it is a good job offer. Stop trying to be so ignorant that you don't understand the point
1
@The_-_- this bill is not worth passing anymore it is woefully insignificant compared to the scope of the problems and not worth wasting the political leverage to pass it. Force the party leadership to do better for the leverage we have.
1
@The_-_- which is why Biden needs to pressure them did you not watch the video??? Or do you think that all 52 holdout senators as so squeaky clean that there is no way to pressure them???
1
@The_-_- you fail to understand what must pass means if you think there is no leverage
1
@The_-_- comparing the cost of different policies per year isn't want about ism. It is the only way we can put the spending in perspective so people like you don't get tricked into thinking 55 billion per year is enough to fix the climate crisis
