Spending the same amount in a decade to address climate change that we spent every day for 2 decades on the Afghan war is an insult to the youth of our country. It shows the Congress sees the climate crisis as 1/3650 of the importance of war in one of the poorest countries on earth

It also tells you how little people understand history. The ignorance of what the new deal did is amazing. Social security alone proves that statement wrong.

I would call them corporatist. They are not actually conservative they are only interested on protecting the wealthy who bought them

@nancymesek I don't get that impression from the press conference the head of the progressive caucus gave after leaving the Whitehouse the other day. She seemed very much on board with the latest round of talks calling Biden the deal maker. I suspect this is more political theater like sleeping on the steps to get Biden to sign an order we all knew the court would toss and letting Americans be evicted from their homes anyway.

The progressives need to vote down this compromise. 3.5 trillion was the compromise we could accept. They have cut out everything that will help the working class and the youth. All they needed to do was fund the orginal plan for 5 years instead of 10 years. We spend more than twice this money on the military budget. The expanded Medicare is only for people over 60. We need politicians who are younger if we want policy to help younger Americans
