  1. No doubt you can find individual opinions to the contrary, but I think that generally Trump and MAGA do want to return to a multipolar world. They basically see the Russia/Ukraine war as none of their business. And such war could spiral out of control and imperil the US. Like Putin, Trump tends to huff & puff during negotiations but he's not really looking for conflict. That's bad for business (unless you're an arms merchant).

  2. Trump thinks that it's dangerous - existentially dangerous - for the US to be so heavily involved in Russian and European affairs. And he thinks that Ukraine is well within Russia's sphere of influence. Trump sees the outsized US influence in the foreign policy and wars of other nations as a relic of the Cold War era.
