@bigfigher Kerala and TN have done that since 1980s.

Went through the report. It does not count the debt of the entities held by the government. So the picture is far worse for every single state.

@prashanthb6521 that figure is liabilities as a % of state GDP. I don't think you understand what that means. UPA cut down debt which funds infrastructure. It's not debt that we need to be wary of, it's how it was spent.

The only country that discusses this is the US. No other country not even in the developed global north is debt discussed.

@coconutpunch123 just like Nehru, Modi has a fatal dependence on bureaucrats. Demonetization was not his idea.

@haberdasherrykr8886 I'd have no problem with that statement if it's seen as a ledger of good and bad. Problem is that you want to see demonitization as the only place he needs to take responsibility. No listing of wins only losses.

@haberdasherrykr8886 again, listing the negatives without accounting for the positives or even the situation. I am well aware of negatives as I hold a part time role in academia. I also happen to know how they are manipulated.

@haberdasherrykr8886 so let's get into the weeds, which specific reports are you referring to. If nutrition then it's correct that India is doing worse, if economic reports, then India is doing better, if democracy indices and media freedom then it's completed propaganda.

@haberdasherrykr8886 not here for platitudes. Go on, which report are you referring to?

@haberdasherrykr8886 and yet I am waiting

@haberdasherrykr8886 I think you mean that you only read the headlines and get sated by the bad press. You can't risk getting into the details and merits of these surveys that rank post takeover Hong Kong and Afghanistan higher than India.

@haberdasherrykr8886 nah. You are projecting. I am not going by media reports. I have looked into the report methodology myself as I have access thanks to my line of work. Depending on the report, I found all three parties to be factually correct. Shekhar Gupta(nutrition report) vs Salvatore Babones(spurious inputs of Indian intellectuals on media freedom) vs Sanjeev Sanyal(democracy rating methodology ignores standards such as presence of unelected royals, EU definition of federalism over new world federalism of Canada/US/Australia/India). But you represent them as unilaterally true without verification.
