What is this obsession with R&D all about? Can you name one global product or patent that Infosys, Wipro and TCS have? Yet they have launched the IT, ITeS and startup scene.

@nilaytalan4443 as someone who consults for startups let me assure you there isn't a single patent, technique and management methodology that Infosys, Wipro and TCS have produced.

@slashybluesy you have it backwards, India is already producing top level talent in R&D. The issue is we don't have the companies, infrastructure and talent to actualize the concept into a product. We need more vanilla companies that have the ability to manufacture rather than Innovate. If a person comes up with a new tech say as simple as new LED format or better USB, there isn't a single company in india that can manufacture things. That is why we end up sending people abroad where they get industry support. R&D isn't a guarantee that you will get market success. Just look at what happened to an innovative company like sharp.
