  1. Here is what I heard through the grapevine: 1. It's less praise for China and more of a reply to Jaishankar's comment on the ANI podcast where he expressed openness to learn how to deal with China from Rahul. 2. I was asked to keep an eye out for the US vs China dichotomy by a contact and boy it did not disappoint. The whole bit on Yangtze was the old Chinese ontological understanding of man's relationship with nature. The analogy is, I talked about what Jain's believe in with an American once and a decade later, I watched him explain how all indian businesses run on the principle of Anekantavada. 3. Apparently the US bit was a signal to the liberals in other countries to get on his side with a sloppy "open borders are good" narrative.
