I think the metric here is geopolitical influence.

@tejesheconomics4072 1. I am talking about the time Elon left, Indians cos should have jumped in instead of MS. We don't acquire our competition while the global north does a fantastic job at it. 2. This is a chronic disease of Indian industry, focus on social pet peevees and internal politics instead of diversification. For example Amul can launch itself into the vegan substitutes(SE Asia is doing a Fantastic job), prepackaged vegetarian(trader joe is the market leader) and high end milk product(speciality cheese) sectors. Instead they are hiring more middle management and fighting the (moronic) vegan lobby with a media blitz about how "real milk" is better. 3. India story is getting started. I am an optimist who has returned to the country. PLIs, regional trade networks, commodity investments abroad(Adani) and domestic consumption will cause an influx of European, Gulf and American money. The current middle class will suffer but we are creating the world's largest base of assembly and low end manufacturing.

What a moment! Please give a speech crediting your great grandmother, padosis, substitute teacher, local panipuri waala and street dogs in your area. Waiting eagerly.

There is some truth to it because they created two waves of industrialists in the 60's and 80's. Japs, Koreans and Europe also benefitted in a similar equation.

No shame in that.

@tejesheconomics4072 while I appreciate your comment, I have a serious issue with our businessmen becoming charity trusts. TCS should have been the one to acquire the OpenAI, the greatest threat to outsourcing business.

@AR-2100 nahi Bhai. This is very different. We haven't dealt with generative AI. I don't think it will kill the services industry in India but we are looking at job cuts of anywhere between 40-90% of our workforce. TCS will survive because there are areas which still require human validation and the tech is sketchy in its intent.
