Umm, you need to amend that. Where does it say anything about additional risks? It’s a question of efficacy and that’s because they don’t have the data. The licensing is based on the data provided to the regulator. It’s actually quite likely that you will get a high degree of protection from a single jab of one vaccine and then additional protection from a subsequent jab of a different vaccine. They just don’t have the data to provide what those numbers are. As for risk, there is none.

@giannipaladini2929 the interchangeability is efficacy, why else are you taking it 🤦🏻♂️

@giannipaladini2929 no, that’s not what that is saying. It’s really about efficacy not safety. The point is the licence is granted under the regimen that was used in the application. The Pfizer trial was conducted with two jabs of Pfizer vaccine, with the second at a specific date after the first. The data from this specific regimen shows an efficacy of x using this process. So the application wasn’t made with data that shows how well it will work (or won’t) under any other circumstance so the license is usually only granted for these specific circumstances. The WHO isn’t making any judgements on what would happen if you did mix the vaccines or delay the second jab, it’s just reiterating they only know how effective it is under the regimen user in the trial. However, this question has been asked in the U.K. in case the EU cut our supply of the Pfizer vaccin. The response was it’s 100% not unsafe and we expect there would be some advantage of a second jab of any kind... but we don’t have the data on that at this stage.
